GODDARD SPACE FLIGHT CENTER LAUNCHES IMAGES THROUGH MITSUBISHI PROJECTORS
High-Resolution Satellite Pictures Impress Audiences
IRVINE, Calif., March 5, 2002 – As a research meteorologist, Fritz Hasler, PhD, leads the visualization and analysis lab at Goddard Space Flight Center. Hasler frequently lectures around the world, exhibiting high-resolution satellite images of the earth in his presentations.
"I typically show high-definition videos and still images from our land, ocean and weather satellites, and it's imperative that the images are clean and crisp," said Dr. Hasler. "I have a discerning audience-along with school-aged children, I've presented to Jet Propulsion Laboratory scientists and the graduating class of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. My presentation has to be picture-perfect, particularly with scientists."
Although he has used 25 different projectors in the last 10 years, Hasler prefers the Mitsubishi Digital Electronic America's X400 LCD projector for its image quality, ease of use and overall excellence. The X400 boasts 3000 ANSI lumens in a compact form factor that weighs less than 14 pounds. With a 400:1 contrast ratio, the X400 projects Hasler's images brilliantly, even in less than perfect lighting conditions.
"I don't even bother with other projectors," continued Hasler. "They look terrible at the extremes. They bloom on the whites, the darks are too dark, and they break up fast-motion video. But the Mitsubishi X400 is great. It shows off the full dynamic range of high-definition images and video. It's robust, too; it takes whatever I give it and projects it in beautiful, crisp color.
