MITSUBISHI DIGITAL ELECTRONICS AMERICA EXTENDS MEGAVIEW WALLT LINE

New 67-inch XGA Data Display Cube and SXGA Engine Now Available

IRVINE, Calif., June 12, 2002 – Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America's Presentation Products Division, maker of award-winning, high-quality presentation and display products, announces the extension of its MegaView Wall line with two new products: the VS-67FD10U, a 67-inch data display cube, and an engine only product, the VS-SH10U. Along with Mitsubishi Digital's 50-inch display cube, system integrators now have increased size and feature flexibility to determine the best configuration solution for their clients.

"Extending the MegaView Wall line is important for our authorized system integrators," says Patty Wenke, product manager for Mitsubishi Digital. "By offering a line of products, we give system integrators greater flexibility to create the best customized solution for their customers' needs."

Each product in the MegaView Wall line also incorporates Mitsubishi Digital's unique Color Space Control (CSC) feature, which guarantees color uniformity and allows for easy adjustment of slight variations in color saturation, brightness and contrast that may occur from display to display.

67-Inch MegaView Wall Display
Building on the success of its 50-inch display, Mitsubishi Digital's new 67-inch data display offers XGA (1024 x 786 pixels) resolution in a 34 percent larger form factor. These displays are specially designed for 24/7/365 applications where non-stop monitoring or projection is critical. The new 67-inch display can be configured in many ways - as many as four displays can be vertically stacked without other support, and any number of displays wide. The VS-67FD10U will be available in September, 2002 with a suggested list price of $24,500 each.

SXGA Display Engine
Mitsubishi Digital's new VS-SH10U is an SXGA (1280 x 1024 pixels) "engine only" product that provides high resolution that is ideal for mission critical applications such as satellite imaging for government, military, and civilian operations. The VS-SH10U engine product includes the electrical chassis and optical unit; the integrator provides the housing and screen for the display.

Mitsubishi Digital's new engine features an exclusive automatic lamp-changing unit that senses a lamp failure or any luminance changes. This gives customers the added security of knowing that they will not have down time due to a failed lamp. The engine can be housed in an enclosure with a diagonal screen size of 67 to 72-inches which provides greater system flexibility.

"With our full line of products, system integrators can offer a wider range of choices to their customers while maintaining their confidence in Mitsubishi's high quality products and service," added Wenke.

Key Features of Mitsubishi Digital's MegaView Wall Family
Mitsubishi Digital is proud to be the first manufacturer licensed by Texas Instruments (TI) to design and build their own engine for rear-screen projection applications, using TI's Digital Micromirror Device (DMD ) single XGA chip. The MegaView Wall data display, brings the reliable Texas Instruments Digital Light Processing™ Technology together with the experience of Mitsubishi's design engineers to provide the perfect solution for demanding applications.

No burn-in means long life - The DMD semiconductor is a reflective device and is not affected by surface ability to absorb heat, even when projecting a fixed pattern over a long period of time. Consequently, burn-in does not occur in principle. The system incorporates a long lamp service life (8,000 hour average for the 50 and 67-inch cubes) compatible with 24-hour continuous operation as well as advanced reliability-even under the severest on-site conditions.

Digital Micromirror Device™ (DMD) Chip - The engine designed by Mitsubishi Digital is equipped with a DMD chip that provides extremely sharp, XGA or SXGA imagery to MegaView Wall data displays. Each display cube has a single, XGA, DMD chip (0.7 inch), a brightness rating of approximately 500cd/m2, and a contrast ratio of 300:1 (full field). The SXGA engine utilizes a single DMD chip (0.9 inch), has a light output of 480 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of 300:1 (full field).

Ultra-Short Optical Focusing System - The short depth of the MegaView Wall display allows it to comfortably fit into reduced-space in a control room or retail environment.

All three products are available through select, authorized system integrators only; the warranty on each display cube is for one year, parts and labor, and 90 days on the lamp.
