Voluntary Product Accessibility Declaration of Exemption and Compliance to Section 508 Subsection 1194.24 Video / Multimedia Products* for all Mitsubishi Data Projectors Only

The purpose of this Voluntary Product Accessibility Declaration is to assist Federal contracting officials in making preliminary assessments regarding the compliance, and or exemption from compliance, of Mitsubishi Data Projectors to the features required to support accessibility. Mitsubishi Electric Visual Solutions America (MEVSA) can be reached at (949) 465-6000 for more detailed inquiries.The table below provides detailed view of Mitsubishi data projectors’ compliance or exemption to standards set forth in Subsection 1194.24 for Video and Multi-media Products of the Section 508. There are three columns in each table:

  1. The 1st column contains the lettered paragraphs of the subsections
  2. The 2nd column describes features of Mitsubishi projectors with regard to that paragraph
  3. The 3rd column is contains remarks and explanations regarding the product.

(a) All analog television displays 13 inches and larger, and computer equipment that includes analog television receiver or display circuitry, shall be equipped with caption decoder circuitry which appropriately receives, decodes, and displays closed caption from broadcast, cable, videotape, and DVD signals. As soon as practicable, but no later than July1, 2002, widescreen digital television (DTV) displays measuring at least 7.8 inches vertically, DTV set with conventional displays measuring at least 13 inches vertically, and stand-alone DTV tuners, whether or not they are marketed with display screens, and computer equipment that includes DTV receiver or display circuitry, shall be equipped with caption decoder circuitry which appropriately receives, decodes, and displays closed caption from broadcast, cable, videotape and DVD signals. For sub-items C, D, and E, Mitsubishi Projectors do not generate its own contents. All contents are inputted to it solely for display magnification purposes; therefore these are not applicable to Mitsubishi projectors.
